    <description><![CDATA[Virgin Trains operated a direct Birmingham International to London Euston shuttle service (via Coventry, Banbury, High Wycombe and Greenford) for the first time on Saturday 28 June 2008. The service will operate when the WCML is closed at Rugby due to the ongoing route upgrade work. On the first day of operation, Class 221 'Super Voyager' units nos. 221112 'Ferdinand Magellan' and 221113 'Sir Walter Raleigh' make a rare appearance at Bicester with the first Southbound service; the 0945 from Birmingham International.
