Until the end of the 1960s, Burton – upon – Trent boasted a system of 43 miles of internal railways to serve the many breweries. Passengers on board the 0638 Aberdeen to Plymouth service formed of Class 221 unit no. 221132 are probably unaware of this fact as their train passes through the Staffordshire town. With a journey time of ten hours and ten minutes, no doubt some passengers would be in need of a drink or two! |
