A flashback to 29 June 1989, as large-logo liveried Class 47/4 no. 47426 trundles through Carnforth station light engine on its way back to Crewe having deposited a permanent way train in the civil engineers sidings. The locomotive entered service as no. D1534 on 16 August 1963 and was withdrawn in March 1994. It was scrapped by M. R. J. Phillips at Old Oak Common in May 1997. |
